made a run to scotts mills today, minor traces of snow in the trees at about 2400 feet. went to the landing, no-one else was up there, man was it peaceful
There are a lot of military folks and some local guys who know the trails a little better than me. Sometime when you have a free moment go to Oahujeepers.com Some of our military buddies hookup with us from the bases in Iraq, keeps them in touch. And then there are those guys who move back home to the mainland but they still email us. In fact two of the guys are up the the Seattle area. Maybe I can find out who they are.
Trails here are not many and they are divided onto 8 different islands. Some guys have trails that are all mud and then others ride through lava fields. Here on Oahu we have two major spots, the flats which is located at the top of one of our "mountains" and the other is Keana Point. Both have limited access. I'd say the best place to wheel is the Big island of Hawaii. It's the largest island and not that many folks live there and they have some nice rigs. I would need to ship my jeep over on a local barge. And this happens just a little $$. I'll throw the word out and see if they guys feed me some info. We do have several folks visit our website for info, esp. military who are coming on orders to a new command located here.
Oh, one question I have for you, are there any specific laws or regulations in Washington concerning what you can and cannot due to your rigs. Here we have these stupid reconstruction rules and if put something on your rig that did not come with it from the factory, you need a permit. Strange too, it only is enforced on Oahu.

Welcome to Hillbilly Offroad and Thank You for your service to our country. If you'd like to put up trails that you know of in Hawaii, I'll be glad to create a section just for you to fill us in on the trails there.
Once you get over this way, let us know and we'll try to get a run together.
