Searching for an older pickup or car for my son. Prefer tank type, lol. Lots of solid steel is preferred as he will be a new driver. Must be running or only need minor work to run. Would love someone willing to take payments or I will have to wait til I get my taxes back next year.
When my oldest started driving, I bought a 1978 Dodge 4x4 Power wagon. Definitely tank type. Would like something along that line if possible. Keep your eyes open for me please.

Trying to stay $1000 or under, especially if I have to come up with it all at once.

I found a little pickup for my son. Found a 1976 Toyota 20R longbed. It's ugly pea green but it has a good sounding motor, tires and axles are good. The front end needs a bit of minor work, aka, new headlight and grill. It's not 4 wheel drive but hey, until he learns how to drive, well, I'd rather not risk him rolling over due to lack of experience.

Yes, I bought it. We've named it the "Goblin" due to it's ugly avocado green color - which we will be changing, LOL
It has a few issues but those are mostly minor. When I test drove it, I found that the heater core is shot, the dashboard lights don't work, the radio doesn't work and needs the shocks replaced. It needs a tune-up very badly and the seat is very uncomfortable for long drives.
The engine sounds good with only a few minor issues that are easy fixes. Once I go thru it, it should be a good little sturdy truck.

Got the tags on it. Ordered the book (yeah, I need one ;D). Filled the back of it up with junk for the dump. Now just have to take it in.
Once the book comes in, I'll be giving it a good going over. Not planning on changing it much at the moment. My son has some ideas as he'll be the one driving it.
The most I'm going to do right now is find a new bench seat as this one is shot.
