Just want to let everyone know what I'll be doing to the jeep. ;D I will do it in steps, and will go the following... 1. 2" Pro Comp spring lift 2. 2" spacers + SYE/CV setup ( no t case drops.. I'm not going to loose MORE belly clearance.. that's the point of the lift right???.. to GAIN more clearance.. ;D ) 3. Super D35 kit + 4.10 re-gear 4. 33" tires.. Either another set of EXT's or TSL swampers.. haven't made up my mind yet. 5. MAYBE... 1" body lift and 1" Motor mount lift.. MAYBE.. Nth degree wen't out of business.. so no current tummy tuck.... Total lift from where it is now, will be 5" from center, which will be awesome..

Sounds good. Should let you play a little more on the trails too.

this lift doesnt sound very pricey, may I ask what are you looking for from the lift? If it is just clearance or for a larger tire ok. I belive you said this was an every day driver as well, did you know that spacer blockes will change the driving characteristics of the jeep while on the asphalt. Where as 5 inch lift is going to look way cool, you are only going to get 2 inch more wheel travel

Ok, my curiosity is peaked. With spacers - how does it change the driving characteristics? When I am finally able to start on the Eagle, I was thinking of doing the lift while I have the motor out so what happens when I change the lift on it? I want to be able to use it as a street driver as well as trails.

how can I explain this..... lets use the jeep for example.... A stock vehicle comes with a certain ride height, those the suspension has a specific geometry to it witch gives it the handling characteristics. when 2 inch blocks are used to lift it, you now have changed the ride height (this is ok), however, the rest of the suspension is still at stock specifications. The primary problem is the steering, the vehicle will now react differently then it used too. Dont forget to change the shocks.
In my case.... My jeep is my daily driver, when I get all the money together I will be putting in a complete suspension lift. I will be installing a 5.5 inch long arm suspension. meaning on my jeep I will change the springs, upper and lower control arms, track bars, shocks, brake lines (to accomodate more wheel travel), new bump stops (to prevent the tires from hitting the inner fender wells), the control arms are adjustable so that I may maintain the stock suspension geometry (same driving characteristics) as it had before.

I'm not worried about wheel travel.. at this point, I want to straddle more objects. I have ~5" of wheel travel, straight up and down from the fenders.. and if I added a 5" lift right now, on top of my 31's, UI'd have a total of 10". When I add the 33" tires, it'd drop down to 8".. As for the ride.. it's a jeep, and I didn't buy it for the ride. I had a 2" custom lift in my 2000 tracker, with air shocks, and the ride was hella stiff.. so.. no biggie.. Plus, I only drive 5 miles each way to work, and I car pool with other employees, so, I maybe drive the jeep once a week. If I put a 5" lift in it right now, with 31's, my belly, frame, and whatever will rise up 5".. perfect.. But I can't do it all at once.. to much money..., but I can do it in steps. The 2" spring lift is $350 from 4wd.com.. and the spacers are about $100.. not sure on the the rest of it.. I have ball park prices.. but nothing yet.

That too.. it comes with shocks for the 2" kit..
Also, I plan on getting adjustable control arms when I get the 2" pucks too..

no worries, I just know from other jeep owners that they tend to get hard to handle... I am doing the Rubicon Express 4.5 or 5.5 long arm suspension lift out of the Quadratek magazine. quadratec.com/

That's a nice lift.. you going to extend drivelines as well?? I don't plan on running anything bigger then 33's.. at least in the foreseeable future..., but I just want the center clearance.. I don't worry about the differentials, because they rise with the tires, and I know how to drive, to avoid differential hang-ups.

U will be spending ALOT of monry for what u r getting out of your jeep. 1st sye/cv not needed till over 4" lift. 2nd " lift is stupid when u v`can do it yourself for $14.50 at home depot 3rd why spend money upgrading a dana 35? they r junk and soould never have been put under a jeep.
If you want to run 33's and want run a 4" lift that replaces at least your LCA. They go as cheap as $520. Spend money on the armor, that is what will get u further and wiloll get u home at the end of the day.
just my 2 cents.
Old coote: the re lift are sweet lifts. For long arm u might check out full traction or clayton. Im goin clayton 5.5 long arm.

i'll be sticking with my 3.5 but adding TJ fender flares if anybody knows where i can pick some up.
and i wouldnt run anything bigger than a 32 on stock jeep axles and 33 if you are gentle.
i lost my lower control arms so i'll be making some that will be adjustable. i may be making some uppers too.
and if plans go correct i'll be getting a dana 44 rear with disc brakes and 4 link.
