Seems to be one issue after another with this thing. Now the Throttle position sensor is bad. Got the new part but they gave me the wrong one. I'll have to return it tomorrow and go to Napa as they have the correct one at a decent price.

Well after replacing just about darn near everything, it now won't start. It turns over but just won't catch. It's not the starter and it's not the plugs or wires.
I've reached the limits of my knowledge so any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
I still have to replace the heater core and plan on doing that tomorrow as I noticed when we by-passed it, the hose is kinked and may be keeping the water from circulating. Don't think that would keep it from starting but may explain a few other issues I had when it was running the other day.

I wish. I'm not sure what the issue is as I've reached my knowledge limit. My daughter's future hubby is planning on coming over sometime in the near future to take a look, but they've been very busy planning their wedding.
I started the dash teardown last eve and oh boy am I in trouble. That will probably take me a few days at least as there is a lot to remove before I can get to the core.

Yes and No.
I now know what is wrong with it after my future son-in-law came out to take a look at it.
Due to test driving it with a plugged radiator, I either blew the head gasket or the head myself. ARGH
So I'll begin tear down again this weekend.

I thought you had all that stuff checked the first time you took it apart. At least the inline 6 cylinders are very forgiving, they will with stand being overheated and cooled of several times before anything major happens. let me know how it goes

I didn't check the radiator, other than filling it with water and antifreeze and I didn't realize something was wrong. I'll keep you guys informed of what I find out, once I have it tore down again.

Sorry you didnt check all that stuff, I was hoping to save you some headaches when I mentioned this in the very begining.....
"most headgasket issues come from something wrong with the cooling system... plugged radiator, heater core plugged, or possible thermostat. Have the cooling system flow checked and pressure checked, when you take the head off, straight edge the block and head (checking for warpage), then have the head flow and pressure tested for cracks. If all is good, install new gasket set and head".
Remember I use to be an ASE certified technician before becoming involved in the towing industry

Yeah, I know you told me so. Wish I'd taken more care to listen, but then again, I've learned so much from this vehicle, it'll make it easier to do the eagle some day, lol.

Well, I re-tore down the Cherokee on Sunday. Actually looks like it is only the gasket I blew but won't know for sure til later today or tomorrow when I take the head back in to the machinist. I'll keep you updated.

What do you mean Blew the head? Did it crack the head or is that where the gasket gave loose at? If the head is warpped, have it machined down some.
