Ok, so it took me awhile to post these. The trip was for the Salem Hog group and we needed to to stop and get pictures of old State Airports.
Our trip went from Salem south to Eugene, we then cut East to Fort Rock.

We then rode to Harts Mountain for our first night of camping.

From here we rode to Fields, Frenchglen, south thru Denio Nevada around the Steen Mountains to Mcdermitt. McDermitt used to be a border town in Oregon, meow it is a border town in Nevada. I understand that Yellowstone National Park originated here and has slowly moved to where it is today.

We then rode to Valley Junction for the night

Here are some random pics of the scenary during the ride North thru Idaho and back into Oregon at Hells Canyon

We stopped in Joeseph in North Eastern Oregon, stayed the night at Wallowa Lake. The plan for the next day was to ride into Pendleton, then cut South to John Day area. The forecast was for some light rain going over the pass to Pendleton. We were lucky and found a spot to hold up for several hours, many others crashed in this storm.
We made it to Meacham to a cafe, the locals where very nice and allowed us to wait out the storm, BTW they have the best Blueberry Cheesecake, and homemade pies.

Next day it was off to the John Day area

We stayed the last night at Ochocco Lake. The trip was just over 1780 miles long and approximately 350 miles was done on gravel roads. There is alot of open country out their, maybe the group shoul think about doing an Eastern Oregon run, it would need to be a couple of days though. Fantastic country and lots of views.
