I would like to have your comments and suggestions regarding a couple of things we are considering as we continue to improve the Diamond Mill OHV Area. One - We intend to install map type sign boards displaying where to do what in the immediate area, e.g. trials area, kid's track, practice trails, etc. Should we limit OHV operation in the parking lot area to entry and exit use only i.e not allow pit riding in the parking lot, after we complete the kid's track and practice trails adjacent to it? We need to make this decision prior to creating our map type sign boards for this area. Two - The kid's track area is constructed on quite rocky soil which was obtained from the recent road relocation project. A suggestion has been made that we allow companies such as Asplund to dispose of their wood chips by spreading them over the kid's track area. Others have used these to reduce dust and soften the surface in play areas for kids. Should we spread wood chips in the kid's track area as they become available? Please let me know what you think and why. Thanks, Dave Hiatt OHV Specialist Tillamook District ODF dhiatt@odf.state.or.us (503) 815-7024
