This is my latest aquisition. I made a deal on it almost a year ago, but wasn't able to pick it up until quite recently. As pictured, it has a 350 SBC, a SM 465 tranny, and an NP205. Its sitting on Toyota diffs, with Toy rear springs up front to help make room for the 36 TSL.
However, it sits differently right now. We pulled the drivetrain out of it, along with the tires and axles, and loaded it into the box of the dually. It has been sitting there ever since.
As you can probably tell, its a bit of a project rig. The drivetrain that I am using is the same one that was earmarked for the Toy, but I opted to do the Toy build differently.
Its pretty much set in stone what is going to happen with the M38. The future specs are:
332 Ford Stroker (sourced from a 91 Mustang)
C6 with all the goodies
Ford 203 clocked 90*/GM 205 clocked flat with NWF Doubler
Dana 60
-brand new yukon 5.86 gears
-ARB
-Yukon in and outer axles (35 spline)
-Bobylongfield 300m u-joints
-NWF 35 spline drive flanges
- Drivers side/ passenger side high steer/ crossover arms from NWF
-3/8 thick diff cover from Great lakes offroad fabrication
-new brake calipers/ pads and rotors
-new outer axle tube seals from Madd4x4
-1350 yoke
Dana 70
- 5.86 gears
-detroit locker
-disc brake conversion
- new rotors/ calipers/ pads
-custom made one off wheel spacers by Evolution Machine and Fab.
-1350 yoke
The tub will come off the frame, and it will be tossed in favour of a heavier custom built chassis. I am going to 4-link the rear, to stretch the wheel base out just a little, and run 2" King coilovers with it. The front will remain leafsprung, but I do think I will be changing the front leafs out for a set of custom built Deavers.
So thats her in a nutshell. When I line up a shop, I'll be snapping pics as the build progresses, and I'll post them up in the buildup forum.
