Hello all... We are still waiting on numbers. I have found five fatalities for 2005 - normally we have seen one or two so five is a huge increase. All had one common denominator - NO SUPERVISION. We are still working hard - just not a lot to forward on today. The Oregonian Reporter, very nice man and I think he is trying to look at the big picture, will be coming to visit with me on Tuesday. It is nice that he accepted my invitation and I look forward to meeting with him. We really need to start looking past Senate Bill 49...not because we are anywhere near being done with it but we should start working on solutions. Tom is going over a few ideas and keep in mind it will be rough at first - we have to start somewhere and we want everyone on board - with everyone's input. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!!! Our Goal is to stop Senate Bill 49, but fix the problem....we have a responsibility to our kids and this sport. If we don't do it right, we will have to live with wrong - Senate Bill 49 is evidence of that!
So, one of our group members has an idea to collect riders data. If you would please pass this on to your friends, etc. and send all responses to him. He said to put "pole" in the subject line so they will all be together. He will then share his information with all of us. Thank you and great input and research from last night.... Please be sure to send anything you find to me..... Thank you thank you thank you......Lindy
So please answer the following questions and e-mail back to collin_sum@yahoo.com
You may remain anonymous, but we think it would be helpful to find, (just for us), how many people we know, have kids that ride, their ages, and their accident history, if they even have one. The purpose is to show proof that the families against Senate Bill 49 have children that ride ATV’s larger than the recommended sizes and only under the direct supervision of their parents are not having the accidents.
Send out the blanks to every riding family you know, but only send the info back to me as I'm already confused enough, and don't want double the info. By doing this we hope to come up with our own (sort of numbers) hopefully to combat the other side.
Thank you,
Collin,
Sandflicker.
I will then calculate this information and let the group know.
Remember we just want honest information.
