Today went GREAT!!! Senate Bill 101 is on the move and headed to the Ways and Means, then to the House. A huge thank you to Parks and Rec., Senator Devlin, Gary, April, Monty and Ed plus any other folks I didn't see in my blurr...(it is intimidating to say the least). A thanks once again to Tom for doing all the homework and spending yet another night up reviewing the amendments!!
I have gained a great appreciation for our Legislative officials and the democratic process. The Committee Senators, and Janet, are incredibly bright and were once again well prepared. We are doing great and our group got tons of Kudos from the Senators. They are very impressed with how we have not only come together, but bridged the gap and worked together with everyone. Safekids also showed support and actually expressed the hope of working together in the future and I of course welcomed them. Sen. Devlin has asked that all of the clubs and organizations in our group write a letter in support of SB 101 that he can take to the House. So please if you could, send them my way and I will get them to the right folks.
The long term goal is to get SB101 through and then next session submit some amendments to include motorcycles for rider fit no min. age. We will also need to participate in the designing and implementation of the training program. But for now- letters please!!! I will keep you all updated as soon as there is news to report! Again, thank you! Lindy
