Well, I was hoping for an educational trip for my kids and we got one. Only three of the Reps. were there so they couldn't vote. There is one amendment that is being added and I spoke for all of us on it... Hope I represented us all well. The amendment was to include a fastened chin strap on helmets for kids under 18. Considering there is already a helmet requirement the chinstrap portion of it seemed a no brainer. What good is a helmet without the chin-strap fastened? Anyhow, everyone else was good with it to so I don't forsee any problems. Other than that it was pretty uneventful. Hopefully it will be heard again on Wednesday - there is only one week left to get it out of the House committee. Then it should go to Ways and Means, back to the House floor, then on to the Senate for another vote since we added the amendments for a farm/ranch waiver and the added fastened chin strap. Once out of the House the Senate should be no problem. Hopefully we will have at least four reps show up on Wednesday to vote otherwise we may be done. The upside is Randy brought more chocolate and we all had a chance to visit. You will all have a chance to get to know Randy as he is one-step ahead of me in all this. Thanks to Ron, April, Randy, Darrell, Don, and Parks for being there. Sorry if you were there and I didn't mention you..I am brain-dead tonight. I am off to help write my daughters PE health article to make up for the hour she missed of school going to the hearing. A really nice young man was trying to put a bill through regarding occular loss and driving just before our bill so maybe we can write it on occular degeneration. It is way cool to see young people involved in the Legislative process. Have a wonderful day and I will report the outcome of the next hearing. Lindy
