Hello everyone!! We have all worked very hard on this bill and I sure hope you can attend the ceremony next Wednesday. Please let me know if you are able to make it so we have a headcount... I think there is room for 50 in the office but if there are lots of folks coming I will try to see if we can overflow onto the capitol steps or just inside the building. Wow.....
On another note - for those attending the meeting in Florence on Thursday - I had a call from Parks today to clarify that if we attend it will only be for observation rather than comments. The public comment portion has closed and they are making the decision for the waiver and successor at that meeting. As I understand it, if they took any comments they would have to open it back up to everyone at a later date and Morrow County has a time deadline we are hoping to meet that would be missed if delayed. I keep telling myself "One bite of the elephant at a time" but it is so hard to do. With regard to the Federal stuff I just got a note today saying regular GPS equipement may not work so it is critical you run a test before you map. If you can map please let me know so I can refer you to the right folks.
In August our family will be adding an AFS student to home for a year so I will not be able to work my usual hours on ATV stuff. I plan on keeping up on the SB101 rider-fit and training program and hopefully our family will map Florence when we are there in August. It sounds like several large clubs are getting together to put a state-wide web-site together as Tom and I had originally hoped to do. To receive allocation funds you must be an organization for three years prior to applying so it makes sense to have one of these "big boys" put it together. Tom and I will help where we can. We also plan on being involved with "Quad Squad" and Safetyride and hopefully fall under the larger OHV umbrella.
We did more than we had ever set out to do - SB49 is dead and we have worked closely with Parks to create a law that sets a National precedent. The OHV community has many more battles in our future. SB49 was just the tip of the iceberg. It has been such a pleasure working with all of you...and though we will not be as connected as we have been these last few months - I hope we will continue to keep in touch. Please let me know if you can attend on Wednesday and once again, thank you.. Lindy

Lindy,
I received a phone call from the Governor's Office saying that they have scheduled a signing ceremony for SB 101 on Wednesday July 18th at 9:25am in the Governor's Ceremonial Office. I believe Senator Metsger will also be attending.
Hope this works for you.
