The MRA in Southern Oregon are hosting a Rally would like as many of us that are able to attend. Many voices will be heard and we can't be silent anymore.....Happy new year!! Lindy Recently a greedy ignorant politician crossed the line by implying that we (recreationist) don't matter and have no place. The RALLY (see flyer below) is a rare opportunity for ALL of us to come together and start the year off with an impactful statement to more than just one lousy politician. We are being forced to defend not only a sport we love but a way of life for most of us. "The World is ran by those who SHOW UP!" -OSPR DOWN TOWN MEDFORD IS OURS on Sunday January 6th, 1-3. SPREAD THE WORD LIKE NEVER BEFORE!! BRING THE FAMILY AND LOTS OF FRIENDS!! LOAD YOUR TRUCKS AND TRAILERS UP WITH YOUR OHV's and/or RECREATIONAL TOYS!!! ***************************************************************************************** PLEASE FORWARD THIS!!!

Whose up for a toy trailer/OHV Hwy I-5 convoy? What is more important...a couple of NFL play-off games, or supporting your fellow OHV'ing Oregonians, in keeping our BLM riding areas open. I know if this was Memorial Day Weekend, or Dune-fest Week, I could easily count 50+ trailers heading down I-5 Friday afternoon, so we shouldn't have a issue with getting 100 rigs...if we count trailers, 4X4 rigs, etc. To do this, I would propose: Leave Portland Area....Wilsonville Rest Area 6:30 AM Leave Salem Cycle County... 7:45 AM Leave Eugene East Mall... 9:00 AM Leave Roseburg....need location? 10:45 AM Leave Grants Pass...need location? 12:00 PM Arrive ALBA PARK... 12:40 PM....Rally Time 1 PM !!! Come-on......Let's Do IT !!! Please get back to me by 1/2/2008. ***Thank-you***Randy*** 503-803-0663

This is from Randy Nicolay!! Your efforts are commendable to say the least Randy.....THANK YOU!! Here's some travel info. I have been pasting info here, including a possible convoy travel plan. www.oregonrecreationcoalition.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=140 "To do this, I would propose: Leave Portland Area....Wilsonville Rest Area 6:30 AM Leave Salem Cycle County... 7:45 AM Leave Eugene East Mall... 9:00 AM Leave Roseburg....need location? 10:45 AM Leave Grants Pass...Wal-mart exit 55 12:00 PM Arrive ALBA PARK... 12:40 PM....Rally Time 1 PM !!! Come-on......Let's Do IT !!! Please get back to me by 1/4/2008 AM via e-mail. ***Thank-you***Randy***503-803-0663***" I have only heard from 2 in the whole Portland Metro Area, that are even considering the trip (Tom N, and Terry D)...this is as bad as when we tried to find just 20 participants in all of Western Oregon to qualify for bringing NOHVCC's Training To Salem. Believe me....my bank-account is about as empty as everyone else's after the holiday, and with gas prices jumping back up isn't helping. If your not wanting to convoy and just want to car-pool, my Suburban with small snowmobile on top, Jeep Scrambler in tow, with ATV in the back of the jeep, and my DS bike on the back rack, has room for 5 more passengers. Just let me know if you need a ride. Thanks to Tom Tobey & Collin Summers for the info: "A good meeting place in Grants Pass would be the Wal-Mart parking lot off exit 55."

Huge kudos to the folks down South for putting on a HUGE successful rally. There were approximately 900 people in attendance. WAY TO GO. A special thanks to Sequoyah - we are so proud of you!!! Ironically the local paper wouldn't cover it but thankfully the news stations were happy to. A handful of people are responsible for this great event and like them we must do our part. If we choose to remain silent we will continue to see more restrictions and closures. Before you vote - please ask them how they stand and if they will help to protect our sport and keep public lands open to all forms of recreation. Thanks and Happy New Year!!! Lindy
