No problems here. Tho the carriers did have to make a few detours in order to get the mail delivered. It was pretty rough getting around the road closures at times.

You must have gotten more wind then we did as we didn't lose any power or trees around here.
My daughter's future in-laws live in Vernonia and his jeep cherokee will need a new engine and tranny before it will get on the road again. They had a trailer which decided to float around the yard til it hit a part of the yard that was higher than the rest. The water came to about 2' from their porch. UGH. Glad I don't live out there.

Nothing finer!! Glad to here everyone was ok.. My grandparents live at the coast, and have been there for10 years, and they said, nothing like this.. ever since they have been down there... The did loose part of there roof, and have some minor water damage, but nothing serious. They said, when the gusts were at 100, it sounded like a train, and there house shook.. They also said, between the sunday storms, they got to go see the beach real quick, and there was about 10' of beach before the waves broke.. Also, during the high tide and second storm, some of the larger waves were half up the hillside.. pretty scary stuff. The coast range had ~11" of rain.. I wander how the trails, and roads held up...

Nice to hear that someone on the coast survived without too much damage. I've been checking the reports and so far TSF hasn't put up a trail update yet. I should hear something soon tho as they were sending some workers up to check on them.

There is a family in great need out in Vernonia if anyone wants to help. She's a single mom of 2 little girls and did not have insurance. I already have clothes for the girls and maybe the mom. I also have an easy chair and book case and toys. Once I know what they really need, I'll put up a list. I still have a lot of stuff that I was going to sell at my yard sale, so I'll only post up what I can't give them myself.
Let me know if you can help.

I'm heading over there tomorrow with my daughter. We'll be loading up the clothes I've gotten together for the girls and whatever else I can come up with from the list. Great find. Thanks.

Well, I went out to Vernonia last night instead of Wednesday. I'm going to concentrate on this one family. It seems she has 3 children. Her mobile home is being rebuilt by her landlord and she may not be able to move back in as the word is he isn't replacing the underlayment and insulation underneath. When she walked back into it to see what she could salvage she became nauseous, probably from the mold and such. Right now they are in a shelter and when I know more of where they are going to be living and more about their needs, I'll post it up. Hopefully, I'll know more by next Friday.

Talked with my daughter last night. The family is now out of the shelter and living in a 20' travel trailer until their mobile home is finished with repairs. Once the repairs are completed they will move back in and at that time will need some things. I'll post up when they are close to moving back into the house.
